Three different race, three different places: one set of winners.

Once a year the Atalanta Endurance Alliance publishes their rankings of the top cats in the endurance racing world. They host three races in the three most brutal, challenging environments they can find. Cats and riders can only enter one race. The beast with the best time out of all three races is crowned champion. So where will your cat succeed?

The Atalanta Endurance Alliance welcomes all shedus: djibbs, komainus, asians, crosses, and classics both heavy and slim. Cats must be OERS [official-bred or fake papered].

Collaborations are welcome. Each collaborator may include one cat in the entry. Cats in a collaborative entry may have very different overall placings.

Maximum cats in one entry: 3. Competitor cats [who have their own entry] do not count against the overall number.

First Run: March 1st - April 30th, 2015
:star: DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MAY 15TH, 2015 :star:

There will be one list of winners. You won't know who placed first in each race, but rather what the overall rankings are [sort of like the PB results]. Think of this as a national ranking list, comparing scores from different races but having one overall ranking.

Death Valley

A 130 mile trek through a hellish desert course. Look out for scorpions, mirages, and long stretches where you'll wonder if you're the last of humanity. The path goes across wide stretches of sand, through narrow canyons and gullies, and along a blacktop highway. Checkpoints every twenty miles, but riders should carry some water to prevent disaster. This is the lowest, driest, hottest place in America.

Date: April 13th
Weather: The morning and afternoon will be in the low 70° (Farenheit), but by midafternoon the temperature will push 90°. Evening racers will experience a rapid drop in temperature to as low as 50°, with flash flood warnings in gullies and canyons.

Start: Lone Pine, CA
Midpoints: Waucoba Mountain, Grapevine Peak, Badwater Basin
End: Telescope Peak

Choose a Time:
Heat I: Early Morning
Heat II: Midday
Heat III: Late Afternoon

Spine of the Rockies

It's 130 miles through snow, ice, and mountains. Cat and rider may see anything from moose to mountain goats, mountain lions to porcupines. The path weaves through heavy wooded areas, meadows, high peaks, creeks, and low lake valleys. There are checkpoints every twenty miles, but riders should carry supplies. This is some of the highest elevation, rugged terrain in America.

Date: September 13th
Weather: There's frost on the ground in the morning, and an early morning blizzard has left six inches of snow on the highest elevations. The high for today is 35°. Beware wind chill warnings pushing the ambient air temperature closer to 0°. Montana is infamous for rapidly changing conditions, and while there may be flowers at one elevation there is snow in those mountains.

Start: Dillon, MT
Midpoints: Lone Mountain, Big Sky, Yellowstone River
End: Granite Peak

Choose a Time:
Heat I: Early Morning
Heat II: Midday
Heat III: Late Afternoon

Deep South

Can you survive 130 miles through the bayou? You'll be headed into the water on this ride, and some of it will be murky. Watch out for alligators. The footing is prone to being muddy. The path skirts the coast and criss-crosses through the delta regions. The humidity will be at 100%. There are checkpoints every twenty miles, but riders should carry supplies.

Date: June 13th
Weather: Rain, rain, and more rain. There's fog in the morning and again in the late afternoon. The footing is extremely unstable, so make sure to watch for course flags where guides have market out hazards.

Start: Abbeville, LA
Midpoints: Vermillion Bay, Shell Island Pass, Pointe Aux Chenes Wildlife Refuge

End: Galliano, LA

Heat I: Early Morning
Heat II: Midday
